Job Classification:

Depending on their program and qualifications Graduate TA’s will be ranked at the level of GTA I or GTA II

Student Eligibility:

  • Must be registered full-time in a Master’s or PhD program at UBC Okanagan

  • Possess necessary educational qualifications

No. of Positions Available:

2 GTA positions for ARTH 100-and 200-level courses

1 GTA position CULT 100 (Term 1)

20 GTA positions for ENGL 100 and 200 level courses

1 GTA position FREN 100-level course

2 GTA positions for SPAN 100-and 200-level courses

Salary:

GTA I, 29.78 per hour
GTA II 28.69 per hour

Duties and estimated hours of work:

GTA duties include the following:

 

  • Marking assignments and exams
  • Managing discussion periods
  • Teaching tutorials and/or lectures under supervision of faculty
  • Invigilation duties
  • Academic assistance to students in office hours

Estimated hours of work per term: 19


Positions and the number of hours assigned to GTAs are subject to funding.
